Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz who was birthed within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter in honor of her hometown. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father was from the Jewish family Ryder thinks she's Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder's parents moved her along with their children into Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old. There was no electricity. There was no television books were Ryder's only distraction to pass the time. Eventually, she began to read extensively. Ryder began taking classes in acting at American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986 at the age of 15 old. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her teenage years. Her hope was that acting might change the situation. However, it didn't come be. The actress continued to chase her dreams. She got her break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder continued to play successful roles in several movies. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated to win Academy Awards. One of them for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence.
