Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz who was birthed within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter in honor of her hometown. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father was from the Jewish family Ryder thinks she's Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger brother. She got her break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder continued to play successful roles in several movies. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated to win Academy Awards. One of them for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence.
